Project Detail
Project Highlights
Vertex Innovations served as owner’s representative on several Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) and Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) upgrades across Connecticut for the nation’s largest wireless carrier. These CRAC upgrades were part of an end-of-life equipment upgrade program, which includes replacing ten existing Glycol-cooled CRAC units, two wall pack units, and integration of new CRAC units unto the existing Building Automation System and Graphical User Interface. The RTU upgrades includes replacing two chilled water RTUs, one DX Split System, and two ceiling-mounted coils, to accommodate 35kW of IT equipment with a load of N+1.
Vertex oversaw the on-time completion of the project, including decommissioning of existing equipment; installation, verification and commissioning of the new CRAC and wall pack units; and integration into the existing BAS. As the owner’s representative, we ensured the general contractor completed the project according to the client’s standards, including requiring the removal of the old Glycol piping, and installation of the new refrigerant piping via the existing roof chase.
