Bluegrass Cellular Ethernet Backhaul and Disconnects

The Challenge
In the wake of a carrier acquisition, this project entailed the coordination of a wireless Ethernet backhaul disconnect alongside the migration of the client’s 337 sites. Vertex Innovations oversaw the disconnect project and comprehensive site migration to ensure a seamless transition to the client’s network.
The Solution
The backhaul disconnect initiative required thorough research to identify the circuits eligible for disconnect from the legacy carrier’s network, which lacked concise documentation of its fiber circuit IDs, routing schemas, and associated monthly operational costs. Vertex spearheaded the disconnection of these circuits with urgency to mitigate the financial drain from maintaining these redundant legacy circuits and successfully decommissioned 195 circuits in six months, thus reducing the client’s monthly recurring operational costs by more than $350,000.
