The Challenge

As demand for wireless services continues to surge, wireless carriers are under constant pressure to build new cell sites and modify or expand existing ones to keep pace with the rapidly evolving telecommunications landscape. Since 2014, Vertex Innovations has partnered with one of the nation’s largest wireless carriers to successfully deliver over 2,000 new cell sites, expanding the carrier’s network to meet these growing demands.

The Solution

Vertex Innovations provided end-to-end project management services to ensure the seamless delivery of these new sites. Our involvement covered every phase of the project, from initial planning through to final closeout. Key services included:

• Pre-Construction Phase: Our project management team ensured all zoning requirements were met, reviewed construction drawings, and conducted initial site walks with clients to determine optimal designs. We also facilitated site walks with fiber vendors, developed comprehensive Statements of Work (SOW), coordinated bid walks with general contractors, and created detailed bid packages to streamline the procurement process.
• Construction Management:As construction began, we took charge of managing landlord meetings, coordinating with general contractors and awarded vendors, and ensuring that all construction activities adhered to the established timelines. Regular site walks were conducted to track progress and maintain high-quality construction standards.
• Project Closeout: Upon substantial completion, we oversaw the preparation of final closeout packages, coordinated final punch walks, and ensured that all work met client specifications through thorough final site inspections.
  Our proactive, detail-oriented approach and rigorous management processes were instrumental in the successful, on-time delivery of more than 2,000 new cell sites thus far, enabling the carrier to expand and enhance its network to meet the demands of an ever-growing customer base.
