Project Detail
Project Highlights
The significant expansion and modernization of the client’s existing MSC facility included a new single-story 44,000 square-foot addition with administrative and equipment spaces, site utility upgrades, a new stormwater management system, and a sanitary sewer lead. Structural upgrades include reinforced pre-cast CMU walls with insulation and a built-up, a modified bitumen roofing system supported by a steel joist, and beam framework on shallow foundations.
The mechanical and electrical systems underwent extensive modernization, including new DX CRAC units in an N+1 configuration to protect against equipment failure; VAV air handling units; and systems designed for positive pressurization and ventilation. The facility’s fire protection system integrates advanced detection and suppression systems such as FM-200, clean agent zones, and an upgraded addressable fire alarm system. Standby power is provided by a 3,000kW generator with provisions for future expansion, integrated with an expanded BAS for monitoring and alarms. Additional infrastructure enhancements include upgraded access controls, CCTV systems, and N+N critical load distribution provisions.
Vertex Innovations delivered exceptional value by successfully resolving complex electrical issues involving step-up transformers, Eaton breakers, and UPS disconnects. Through proactive collaboration with trade partners, manufacturers, and the client, we utilized root cause analysis, process improvements, effective meetings, and precise execution of lockout/tagout and MOPs to ensure reliable solutions, streamlined processes, and enhanced system performance.
