Project Detail
Project Highlights
Home of the NFL Minnesota Vikings, the award-winning U.S. Bank Stadium is a symbol of the ultimate fan experience. With spectator enjoyment paramount, the stadium’s construction included the installation of a robust Distributed Antenna System (DAS) network to provide top-tier wireless speeds for its nearly 70,000 fans. At the time of completion, the stadium set the record for the fastest wireless speeds in the world.
Vertex Innovations partnered with a leading wireless carrier to manage the construction and implementation of the stadium’s Neutral Host DAS project, which included 1,600 DAS antennas, 300 amplifiers and more than 40 miles of fiber optic cable.
As the DAS project manager, Vertex oversaw all construction-related activities associated with network infrastructure, including supporting the carrier in the RFP and bid process with vendor selection, bid walks and feasibility reviews. Once construction began, our on-site team monitored and tracked construction progress via the client’s internal project management database as well as Procore to ensure the project met the client’s stringent activation goals.
Since its completion, the DAS network has since withstood the pressure of Super Bowl LII, ESPN X Games and the NCAA Final Four, keeping fans connected through every chant, cheer and sounding of the Gjallarhorn.
